Quick answers

How were these puzzles made?

Each position comes from a game the engine played against itself. A position is kept only if a full search confirms there is exactly one move that forces mate, so there is never a second correct answer you could be marked wrong for.

What does "mate in 2" mean?

You make a move, your opponent replies with their best defense, and then you deliver checkmate. The page plays the defending move for you.

Is my progress saved?

Solved puzzles are remembered on this device, so you can close the page and continue later. Nothing is sent to a server and no account is needed.

What if I get stuck?

Use "Hint" to see which piece moves first, or "Show solution" to play it out on the board. Then try the next puzzle.
